A very good moed to everyone, we just got back from Asheville, Nc. enjoying much hiking and climbing with the family... Well the time is ticking down and wanted to post come cool back country info to get you ready for our very challenging summer... I hope to be blogging at lease once a week and let me know if they are any particular articles you would like too see or things you want to learn about.... enjoy and "see you on top!"

Are you in shape for backpacking? If you exercise regularly, you may be ready for short trips and easy terrain right now. But the backcountry can be rough and the more prepared the better off we'll be.
Tips to get you started.
The best way to train for backpacking is… backpacking. For us in yeshiva that might not be as easy as it sounds, but filling you backpack up with books and charging up and downs the stars ( in good footwear)

Start slow and light gradually increase the length and your backpack load.
If you have a bike, start pedaling. Cycling is another good way to condition your legs and increase endurance.
Tip: Remember to stretch before and after all activities.

Your efforts will be amply rewarded with a happier, more relaxed time out on the trail.

Be well
Michoel
